The High Alpine Road (Großglockner) the highest mountain of Austria, about 3,798 meters above the Adriatic and the highest mountain in the Alps.
The trip to the highest mountain starts from the Salzburg direction, beginning through the Ferleiten pay entrance.
If you coming from Carinthia over Heiligenblut towards Salzburg (Ferleiten), first pass Kasereck and Schöneck before they reach the Kaiser- Franz-Josefs-Höhe viewpoint.
The Pasterze, Austria’s most extended glacier, lies on the Grossglockner’s eastern slope.
